GRADUATION

The Chapel, St Joseph's Motherhouse, Morrow Park 3377 Bayview Avenue Toronto, Ontario
THE HISTORY
Tyndale University College & Seminary was founded in 1894 as the Toronto Bible Training School. Later known as Toronto Bible College, it merged with London Bible Institute (established in 1935 and later known as London College of Bible and Missions) in 1968 to become Ontario Bible College. The Seminary was established in 1976. In 1998, the name Tyndale was assumed, honouring the heritage of the Father of the English Bible, William Tyndale (1494-1 536). Tyndale was an English reformer who studied and translated the Scriptures with a passion for the Christian faith and a willingness to follow God no matter the cost. He is a model for scholarship, faith, and vision. In 2003, Tyndale was accorded university college status by the provincial government. In 2007, Tyndale received approval from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and from the Ontario College of Teachers to offer a Bachelor of Education program. The Seminary programs are accredited by The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS). In 2007, Tyndale purchased the Morrow Park property from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto. Tyndale is an evangelical, transdenominational school with over 1,200 students and more than 9,000 alumni.
THE CREST
The crest of Tyndale University College & Seminary displays the school colours — blue and burgundy — and the Greek motto douloi Cristou — <^ which describes the school's vision for all students, faculty, staff, and
[] alumni to be servants of Christ. The lantern is symbolic of Psalm 1 19:105:
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

IMMORTAL. INVISIBLE, GOD ONLY WISE
Immortal, invisible. God only wise.
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes.
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days.
Almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.
Unresting, unhasting and silent as light.
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might.
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
To all life thou givest, to both great and small; In all life thou livest. the true life of all. We blossom and flourish like leaves on the tree. And wither, and perish; but naught changeth thee.
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light. Thine angels adore thee, all veiling their sight; All laud we would render: oh help us to see 'Tis only the splendour of light hideth thee

A founding member of the Philip Aziz Centre, Rev. Salminen presently serves as its Executive Director. The Philip Aziz Centre is a community-based hospice program that provides practical, emotional and spiritual support to persons living with AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, in the comfort of their own home. Much of her hospice work involves research, community networking and consultation, program development, recruitment and training of staff and volunteers, pastoral and spiritual care, AIDS and hospice education among the faith community, and most recently, establishing a residential pediatric hospice in Toronto.
Rev. Salminen believes that the greatest expression of our love for God is unconditionally loving our neighbour. "We may differ in culture, ethnicity, values, beliefs, faith, giftings, social/economic status, gender, education and geography, but we are similar in our universal desire to be loved, accepted, belong and know our lives have significance, purpose and value.
